I look in the mirror, And you know what I see? I see a little girl, Looking back at me. Her braids are long, And her smile wide. She's who I was, Who I left behind. I knew who I was, I was happy with me. This is someone, I no longer see. I look in the mirror, And who do I see? I see John, Looking back at me. His hair is long, And held back for mommy. He is part of who I am, When I dance he is me. I am him, As he is me. Neither one of us, Is truly happy. I look in the mirror, And who do I see? I see my mother, Looking back at me. We look the same, That's what I'm told. Will I still resemble her, When I grow old?
