At Last...
They stood beside each other on the bridge overlooking the party on the docks. Neither one of them spoke, and the night was quiet, save for the sounds of the party winding down below them.
The band started into their last song.
At last....My love has come along...
The younger man cautiously lay his head on his boss's shoulder.
My lonely days are over...
The older man looked at his companion for a second before deciding to lay his head on his companion's. He smiled a little as he did so.
And life is like a song!
The older man started to sway to the slow music. He brought his hand to his companion's hip.
Oh, yeah, yeah...At last...

CHAPTER 5- AN UNEXPECTED RENDEZVOUZ
Smithers followed Gary's rental car as they pulled up to his apartment complex. Gary now lived on the nicer side of Springfield in a pre-furnished apartment. Smithers looked around in awe. It looked as though it had a 1000-dollar-a-month rent...Gary wasn't making that much at his job at the plant...so where was he getting all the money from?
He pushed the thought out of his mind as they climbed to the third floor and entered room 327. Smithers walked in and sat stiffly on the couch. Gary, who had just lugged his suitcase up the stairs, walk

CHAPTER 4- IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO FIRE THE STAFF
That fat pig from sector Seven-G and his cronies closed in on Burns.
Nobody loves you...
"Nobody loves you," He began to chant.
"Nobody loves you! Nobody LOVES YOU!"
Burns flinched away from the fat man's taunting words, becoming louder with every second.
"NOBODY LOVES YOU!!" The taunting laughter echoed through his head. He covered his ears and whimpered, wanting more than anything for it to stop.
"Go away!" He yelped.
Suddenly, his taunters were gone, and he heard Smithers' soft voice behind hi

CHAPTER 3- PLAYING BY THE RULES.....
That night, Smithers tried his best to sleep but, for some reason, his eyes didn't want to stay shut. He looked over at the Rules of Acquisition, sitting innocently on his bedside table...waiting to be read...He shut off his light and turned around, but he could feel the rules sitting there...waiting for him; silently calling to him. He tried to ignore them, but he only ended up tossing and turning in his bed until, finally, he turned the l

CHAPTER 2- NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT
EARLIER THAT DAY...
Mr. Burns sat in his office, watching the surveillance cameras as he often did. Soon, his assistant, Waylon Smithers, would enter with his morning coffee.
Burns glanced over at one of the screens and snorted at the sight of a balding man distastefully shoving a doughnut into his mouth. He reminded burns of a pig......a very fat pig....
"I wonder who that repulsive man is..." Burns muttered to himself.
"That's Homer Simpson, sir, one of your average Joes from sector 7G." Smithers said, unwittingly startling Burns.
"Smithe

CHAPTER 1- ONLY FOOLS PAY RETAIL
It had been a while since Waylon Smithers, Jr had been to Cockamamie's Collectables...ever since he'd had that falling out with the owner, John, it just seemed to be emotionally taxing. He didn't know what had posessed him, but he found himself stiffly walking through the doors and into the cluttered shop on that dreary Thursday evening. He had to admit, after such a rough day, this was a better idea than going home and drinking himself to sleep. Looking around, he noticed that not much was different from the last time he'd been there; weeks ago.
